About

Hi! My name is Siva Shakthi. I was born and raised in a South-Indian beach town called Pondicherry.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, I joined Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi as a postdoctoral research fellow. But I took a dive into Science Communication in 2022.

I try my best to take Science to the public by not just showing what can be done, but also make them question the information that they are exposed to – Is eating during solar eclipse harmful? Are vaccines bad? Is there life beyond earth?

My aim is to make science accessible to all without a language barrier. I have recently started working with translators in regional languages and in Indian Sign Language.

While I started a bit late, I love reading – the genre changes rapidly though and as a result, I have a home library – you are welcome 🙂

I like all things folk – music, arts, and culture.

If we meet sometime, we can talk about the South Indian history, Science, Literature, and maybe we can go on a short trek too. Be sure to carry your binoculars and telescopes, if you have any.
